Standalone mode doesn't need an open Simphony check, a network connection to the POS, or a table number. Enter an amount, take a payment, print a receipt. That's the entire flow.
POS outage backup
When Simphony goes down, the same handheld the server already has in their hand switches to Standalone. Transactions keep processing through the payment layer while the POS recovers.
Built for what doesn't fit the POS
Pop-up bars, outdoor events, off-site catering, valet tips, spa retail, poolside charges — anywhere a guest wants to pay and there's no terminal nearby. Standalone puts a full payment terminal in an operator's pocket.

Key in any dollar amount on a full numeric keypad. No menu, no check, no POS connection required. Enter the amount, charge the card.
EMV Chip, Contactless, Swipe
Same EMV-certified card reader as Pay at Table. Tap, dip, or swipe — the transaction processes through the Vitabyte payment layer.
Gift Card Redemption
Dedicated gift card tab. Redeem cash balance or points in the same flow. Switch between card and gift card with a tap.
Print or Email Receipts
Integrated printer for paper receipts on supported devices. Email delivery for a digital copy. Same receipt flow as every other Vitabyte transaction.
Same Device, Two Modes
The same handheld that runs Pay at Table switches to Standalone mode. One device in the server's hand covers both use cases — no second piece of hardware.
Any Supported EMV Device
Runs on any EMV handheld terminal Vitabyte supports. Devices with an onboard printer get the full receipt experience.
